Bento #29

I packed bentos for us to have a picnic by the beach one weekday last week.

In the bentos: Onigiri made with organic wild rice (Marcus had additional onigiri with furikake, steamed beancurd (marinated with teriyaki & honey), pan-fried pumpkin, stir-fried sesame chicken with cabbage and endamame.

I added half a honey kiwi to my bento. The other half was gobbled up as I packed the bentos. :P

Once I packed the bentos, I realised just how much I miss making bentos. Gosh! The sheer happiness I feel creating a beautifully arranged box of food is simply incredible. It is even more enjoyable and often makes me laugh when I made a cute or especially pretty bento. My favourite so far is still the Owl Bento

Hi Akane! Welcome to my blog. Thank you for your kind comment on the bentos. Yes, I love the idea. Perhaps next time we can go to East Coast Park or Botanic Gardens and bring some bentos for picnic. :D

Hey, ur Bentos are so pretty! I am going to send my 15month old daugher to playgroup next month, but the childcare does not cater to her vegetarian diet, so I have to start preparing bentos for her. My colleague share ur site with me. Truly inspired by your site. Thank you!

Hi vegepiglet, thank you for dropping by my site. I am happy that you appreciate my bentos. I think it is great that we can pack bentos for our kids to eat at school instead of depending on the poor quality food served at most schools/childcare. Besides it is so much fun to make bentos. I really enjoy the process and it also makes me happy that my kids are eating good food and they appreciate the prettiness of their lunch.

I hope you will have as much fun making bentos as I did. Do drop by often as I will be making more bentos again from January on when school reopens.
