It is always wonderful to see the boys having fun with even the simplest craft.
I picked up some leaves with the boys one day and got them to do leaf printing with Crayola paints.
M was shown how to make leaf markings with crayons before painting on them to make prints. He was like the best student watching attentively as I demonstrated. Once he began, he was all of focus and diligence, only pausing to smile at me with a twinkle in his eyes as he noted his own creations.
Chipsy, on the other hand, was the impatient little fellow who couldn't wait to hold the brush, squeeze the paint out of the bottles and the whole time, yelling at the top of his lungs and stamping his feet 'I want to hold leaf! I want to paint! Paint blue! Paint here!'
I couldn't show him anything as he snatched the leaf sample and brush from me. So I gave up and just let the artist in him do whatever he wanted.
Then I showed them a trick or two on mixing colours and the boys went on to paint some trees, though Chipsy just really wanted to paint the whole paper green. Haha!
The painting at the top with 2 trees was partly done by Chipsy. I showed him how to dab on the paper with his green paint and when he gave up, I touched up a little and added the trunks to show M.
M subsequently completed his painting of 'The Three Trees in Autumn' all by himself.
