Why I Don't Depend on DVDs to Teach



To add fuel to the ongoing debate....  read this if you have young kids.

It's true that none of the DVD or TV programmes can do better than we spend some time reading a book to our kids.

My kids love my voice and companion compared to the 'electronic babysitter'!

I totally agree! Companionship from a loving adult beats the black box anytime!

But I can understand that some times caregivers have little choice but to leave their young ones in front of the TV for a few minutes. That should not cause major alarm or damage. It is when the electronic babysitter makes appearance routinely and over a long stretch of time that its effects becomes worrying.
