Bento #37

For the 4yo's school lunch this week.  The star of the bento this week is the homemade wantons that were baked instead of fried.

My boy loves the wantons. The first time I placed these on his dinner plate, he took a quick bite and went "hmmm.... these are so delicious mama. I love them. Will you make them for me everyday?"

No, he didn't get them everyday. Of course not! :)

I made a bento for Chipsy too since he had a date with the adorable Ethel.

Hi DG,

I've become a huge fan of your blog... from the first time I chanced upon it :) Personally,I think you are truly inspirational to ALL (& that wouldn't be an exaggeration *smile*) moms out there. I'm sure you've heard it many times already... but it's really amazing to read about the things (& the amount of things!) you've done for your 2 lovely boys. I'm a working mom of one 2.5 yo gal and I sometimes wish I could even do half of what you've done. And your bentos! gosh, it's so beautiful and nutritious. I'm definitely inspired to brush up on my cooking skills. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.

XH, no he didn't. Took a bite only. But he had a massive breakfast just two hours before I presented him the bento. So to be expected really. He gobbled up the avocado though. That is to be expected too.

Jan, thanks so much! *smile* It is really sweet of you to take time to write such encouraging words. I appreciate your support.

hi, wont the heat of the warm food oxidises the fruits in the bento?

hi anonymous,

Yes, adding hot food will oxidise the fruits, esp avocado. But I usually don't add the cooked food in the box when it is still piping hot anyway. I prefer to let it cool slightly so there wasn't any visible oxidisation.
