20 months ago and now

It is so interesting to look back at how my 4yo's art has evolved and progressed over time.

1. His first drawing that we keep. Drawn when he was 31 months. He had a full description of what every little line means.

2. Two months later, at 33 months old, he drew this gorgeous piece which I subsequently made into the birthday invitation card for his 3rd birthday party. I am still amazed by how he could have made such distinct progress in just two short months, with no guidance or instruction from anyone.

His early drawings at 2.5yo here.

More drawings with intricate details at 3.5yo here and here.

Just looking back at how his drawing skills have evolved over the past 20 months throws up a very exciting expectation that perhaps little Chipsy is going to display some interesting drawings real soon since he is now 26 months old.

Few days ago, Chipsy scribbled vigorously on a paper with a yellow marker he picked up from his brother's table and showed me proudly afterwards his drawing of the sun and some trucks. He did give the trucks some sort of explanation but I just couldn't make out what they were. On closer examination, there is a really an oval shape near the upper half of the paper with portruding lines that could pass off as his first 'sun' with sun rays.

Perhaps this is the first of his many great artwork to come. I just can't wait!

Unfortunately, the yellow lines are too faint against the white paper that it just won't show up on a photograph.

It's always so exciting to see how they grow and learn over time. And it's wonderful to have amummy who chart their every progress

Yes it is. That is one of the privileges of being stay-home mum! We get to witness and closely record all our kiddo's developmental milestones and celebrate with a blog entry! LOL!

ACtually this is also for the grandparents who live abroad so they get to know the kids.
