Tip #1: Keep Talking

When it comes to building a strong language foundation, nothing works better than speaking A LOT to our kids.

A few years ago, my best friend wanted to know what I would consider as a key factor to raise a child who speaks well. Her first-born was only months old then.

I advise her to keep talking to her infant. In the first 2 years of a child's life, when they are limited by language ability to respond and converse with us meaningfully, many parents mistakenly thought that it is not important to keep talking.

Actually, the window of opportunity to lay the building blocks for good language foundation opens even before the child can converse with us. Of course, what we say also matters.

In other words, the quantity of words spoken is important but the quality of words cannot be neglected either.
