Flowers for Mama

CIMG0592
Chip chose a blue rectangular paper, folded it in half and cut out a random shape, so he ended up with this symmetrical shaped vase.
Flowers created with sponge printing. Stems were added with fingers.

Beautiful! I love the vivid colours - may I know what paints do you use? Acrylic? Or oil pastels? My oil pastel paints usually come out as rather washed out, nothing as vivid as this!

Thanks Linette. For this piece, we used Crayola brand tempera paints which I've been using since the boys were tots. I love them because they are washable and non-toxic.

I have never tried oil pastels paints. We have acrylic but I rarely use them because they stain so badly and hard to wash off. Sometimes the boys will use water colours but you have to use good quality water colours and water colour papers to see good effects.
