A dose of fun on a hot weekday afternoon.
We played our little game with his 'claw' as Chip learns to read some new words.
As seen in the video, I have added words like 'cheese' and 'clock' to the group because I wasn't teaching phonics. The words are selected for a few reasons and this is one of our transdisciplinary thematic activities for a lapbook that we are working on.
Both E and I don't teach our boys phonics. As I mentioned before in a previous post, we don't believe that phonics is the most effective or only way for teaching preschoolers to read, despite its popular use in preschools nowadays. We still believe more in the 'whole language' approach.
