The holidays

We are at Week 1 of Marcus' school holidays.

As usual, I don't believe in holiday workshops, hence the kids aren't going to any. Instead, there will be lots of free play at home, plenty of outdoor exploration and adventures, playdates and more time on our homeschooling activities. With a fair idea of what holiday workshops offer in terms of content and quality, the boys can't be missing out much.

Anyway, there will be plenty of catching up in the Chinese department for Marcus in the coming weeks which Marcus is so keen on lately. Besides the projects that we are/will be working on which will cover a wide range of subjects, we are going to spend time in all the areas that he has shown great interests in, such as geography, nature study, art and crafts, science, maths and even topics relating to space and the universe, the last of which I most likely will outsource to daddy. And not forgetting the piano practice.

Nicholas will be continuing with the weekly homeschooling programme, though whenever possible, I will also expose the 2yo to whatever that Marcus works with.

On top of this crazy schedule that I have planned for the boys, which should only be lots of fun for them but tough on me, I am hoping to carry on with my 2 meals a day cooking, more baking (especially X'mas goodies), try and exercise 4 times a week, and make a few bentos before year end. I do enjoy bento-making so much but I also feel silly making a bento and eating it at home. I am also hoping we will have time to plan at least one Christmas party or gathering of some sorts with friends and family. E will be taking 2.5 weeks off work soon during the holiday season, during which I should be able to get plenty of me-time and indulge in some serious pampering.

That should finish off this year very nicely. Hmmm.... I know I am being a wee bit too ambitious but I am still going to try.

Just a heads up- this http://www.lnt.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2762394&clickid=cart is considered a good deal. Better model than the one I ordered, this has virtual lighthouses and self-docking homebase and fast battery charge-time. Vpost has 20% off shipping charge if paid via UOB (with promo code indicated on Vpost webbie)- will work out abt $60 shipping from Vpost USA to SG. :)

That's hell of a packed schedule- cooking and homeschling and all! :) I just want to vegetate... sigh, feel rather guilty over not homeschling the kids but I'm afraid I can't handle so much on my plate.

So what iron do u use?

Oh thanks for the heads up! Will look at it. I haven't even talked to hubby about it. He will probably just say 'go get a maid!' LOL! I can't wait to hear your feedback about yours.

Don't feel guilty over not homeschool. It's personal choice. Anyway, your kids' schedules are also incredibly packed already.

I use a very ordinary iron - Delonghi brand. Some cheapo brand which hubby picked up in a rush this year after we found our ex-maids spoilt 2 Philips irons.

Ah yes, a timely reminder for me to start Chinese proper with L during his school hols. But I am in such a festive mood, all I want to do is Christmas stuff like baking gingerbread men!

Happy holidays!
