We received M's first report card from his art teacher when the term ended last week.
Artistic: He has impressive drawing skills, is quite independent in his work. I can see there is a noticeable improvement in his drawing from his lesson 1 to last one, could improve more on colouring everything smoothly within the lines.
Behaviour: Communicates well among his friends, is very friendly and well-behaved.
With the report card are the lesson plans for the term he attended, though he missed 3 lessons at the beginning. I was very pleased with the overall evaluation, but more so that he has gained some valuable experience and had so much fun in the process.
A few days later, I got an email from the art school, notifying me that M will be promoted to Level 2 come Jan 2009. That was a real surprise as he only attended 10 lessons in Level 1 (there are 48 in total) and Level 2 is for age 7 - 12!
I do wonder if this is a good move or should we just let him continue in Level 1 for at least another term so that he picks up more techniques before progressing. More later... when I decide.

go for it!
why reinvent the wheel?
M has the aptitude and attitude!
Thanks contentedmom.
Yah Kole. I decided the same too. If the teacher thinks he is ready for level 2, then why not! :)
