Shapes and colours

We put this box away for 6 months and totally forgot about it until a few days ago.

M used to play with this everyday for hours, which I believe has benefitted him lots. Not just with his fine motor skills, shape recognition and mathematics (in terms of geometry), but also in unleashing his creativity. Though it does help kids with colour recognition, it didn't benefit M by the time he started playing with it as he already knew all the colours.

Now, it is Chipsy's turn. I hear him shout "See! Blue triangle!", "Here is yellow circle!", "Red square, mama" etc, ever since he started playing with it. It is lots of fun just watching him trying to assemble the pieces on the cards, though he is definitely not as patient as M before. But I know he will get better.

As for M, he has renewed his love and is now playing with the pieces in different ways. He just spent ages to create an impressive machine truck using all the different shapes and sizes.

Nicholas is developing fast in many ways! Mommy well done! I'm looking forward to my little one doing these things. Where did you get the geometry toy...interesting.

Hi, could you tell me where I could find this set of shapes? I'd love to get one for my son. Many thanks!

Hi handydog, electra,

The box was from Growing Fun, but I bought it long ago (I think in early 2007 when Marcus was about 27 mths old), so not sure if they still have it as I don't see them in the shop anymore.

Hi,

Appreciate the info. You are right though, they don't seem to have it anymore, I just went to a store today. Could I trouble you for the brand on the box if you still have it? I'd like to see if I can find it elsewhere. Thanks again!
