When my 2yo was playing the Colors & Shapes set with me yesterday, he spent a while arranging the different shapes and working on some tangrams on his own.
At one point, we had a little exchange....
'Are you holding a pentagon? Let's put it over here.'
'No mama. It looks like a pentagon to you. Actually it is a hexagon.' (No editing from me. His exact words and grammer.)
I couldn't stop laughing!! He sounded just like me. That was the first time he said this.
Sometimes, when my kids name something incorrectly or if they describe something and I don't agree with them entirely, I would say something like 'oh it may look like a xxx to you, but actually it is a yyy.....'.
It always makes me laugh when I hear my kids talking like me.
And a few random photos taken recently that I love of my little Chip.
Pretending to sleep on a cab ride.
Trying really hard to blow the feather. Very, very funny to watch as he just couldn't blow it off his hand. Instead he showered lots of saliva on the feather!
Pretending to be playing a flute and humming a tune concurrently. It was a straw. :)
And here is a very belated video post of my 2yo singing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars' and bits of 'Baa Baa Black Sheep'. He knows the latter but just won't sing it when the camcorder was facing him. Taken about 3 months ago.
